Bombardier with more than 40% decrease in profit
The Canadian group Bombardier reported 43 percent drop in its net profit for the fourth financial quarter, which ended in late January, officials said. The strong decrease is partly due to reduced supplies and selling prices of business aircraft division. The company, which is the world's largest maker of trains and occupies third place in the manufacture of aircraft for civil aviation, a profit of 179 million dollars (10 cents per share) for the quarter. Sales revenue for the period fell by 1.5 percent to 5.35 billion dollars. The average forecast of analysts was for earnings per share of 11 cents and sales of 5.35 billion dollars. In the last quarter of the fiscal year the company delivered 86 aircraft to 93 for the same period the previous year. Turnover of the aviation division fell by 3.6 percent to 2.7 billion dollars.
