AT&T hardly increased its profit in the first quarter


AT&TThe U.S. telecom giant AT & T reported 39 percent profit growth for first quarter a year earlier. That have contributed to increased revenue from mobile services and data. The earnings at AT & T is 3.41 billion dollars, or 57 cents a share, after the first three months of last year's positive result was 2.45 billion dollars, or 41 cents a share. The revenue did increase by 2.3 percent to 31.25 billion dollars. The expectations of analysts was for earnings of 57 cents per share on revenue of 31.26 billion dollars. Unit wireless services accounted for revenue growth of 8.6 percent, while voice services has decreased by 12 per cent. The good news for AT & T is attracting 2 million new subscribers of mobile services during the quarter. For the first quarter of last year's new subscribers were 1.9 million on an annual basis, increase subscribers by 12 percent to 97.5 million Due to the sales of iPhone, AT & T has managed to beat Verizon Wireless on growth in new subscribers. The increase of subscribers to mobile services at AT & T is the largest in company history, says the report. Before the start of trading session in New York today, shares of AT & T get up by 1,6 percent to 30.80 dollars a share.
